No Stalgia?

We can't really understand why we keep going back to our past, specifically within the last 10-15 years or so every so often. It's usually when we get tired of 'whats cool' and such. Childhood memories are always good, but there's that little bit of space that seems to reoccur that says "hey, look at me! remember me? That's right....you forgot something here." but we're not exactly sure what it is we forgot. There's some unfinished business in the 90s, which is why everyone seems so hyped about it (aesthetically, musically, etc.), but it seems as if the root of it is where it's at, and for us, 90s popular culture seems to be the first place to look to. But right now, ours is specifically:

party of five....

kelli from Sneaker Pimps (b-a-b-e)...

natalie imbruglia....

shirley manson from Garbage...

and Aaliyah.

There's something to be said about the state of things when all we can do right now is reflect on how things use to be. They say that the 90s was there to fix the problems of the 80s, and so forth. So what about now? What were the problems of the 90s? Maybe we were too young to concieve any specific thought. Maybe all the super nintendo, mtv spring break, 92.3 the beat mixes, snick(elodeon), rap city (when it was good), my so called life, 2pac and a bunch of others kept us from figuring out what was wrong. But i guess that's ok. It's all we could really do when our mom said we were too young to go outside and pick up Push Pops at the liquor store a block away, or play Street Fighter at the video store next door. Oh well....More business to attend to. Maybe even too much to finish.
