BANKSY: Village Petstore and Charcoal Grill.

It looks like "he" has a new show in New York, and it looks pretty crazy. It's amazing how Banksy can go from one guy who stencils, to a supposed collective, to a gallery artist, to elephant painter, to taxidermist. Except maybe things that are already taxedermied (hot dogs?). Edible taxidermy perhaps?

And usually, art that is "preachy" sucks, but because of Banksy's weird way to be clever about it, we don't really mind it that much. We also like the fact that he's a supposed product of the art world and is somehow just a bunch of dudes with Charles Saatchi being one of them, SUPPOSEDLY. But here is a quote from Banksy regarding his "preachy" show:

"New Yorkers don’t care about art, they care about pets. So I’m exhibiting them instead. I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming, but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing. I took all the money I made exploiting an animal in my last show and used it to fund a new show about the exploitation of animals. If its art and you can see it from the street, I guess it could still be considered street art"

Peep the vids from the show. they're pretty weird:

Preachy? Maybe. What else is new? But it sure did make us hungry! Mmmmm, hot dogs.
